Hurrah for South Ward!
Hurrah for South Ward!
Someone in the stands is yelling:
"Hurrah for South Ward!"
Do you remember how exciting it was to learn cheers and yell for the mighty Kittens? We knew we were big and bad, and didn't even realize that we were the ONLY ones who thought so!
This photo is of the 6th grade class from South Elementary, taken in 1963, shortly after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. See if you can figure out who everyone is!
We'd love to have some pictures of our other schools. If you have some, scan them in and email them to me at mbpierce@alphagraphics.com, or post them on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/BHS1970. When you do, include some of your memories of your school, and identify the year and the people in the photo, if you can!
None of us seem to be able to remember the name of the student teacher - any guesses?
Mary Beth Groce Smith
If you click on the photo, it will enlarge it. :) Not that any of us need large type or photos or anything like that!
ReplyDeleteMark Larner recalls the student teacher - Says his name was "Mr. Schnitz". Mark says he has never forgotten steeling himself to be sure he didn't slip and mispronounce it. At least in public... LOL
